This system uses a "drainback" type solar
hot water system.
Twenty panels have been recessed into the roof of the residence.
The fill only when the panels are above freezing and are
hotter than the storage tank.
The storage tank is 1,200 gallons and contains five heat exchangers.
These heat exchangers provide supplimental heat for the pool, domestic
hot water, and the pool house radiant heating.
The entire sytem is controlled with a DDC (Direct Digital Control).
The DDC is a hardware and software based system that we design and
program to handle what "off the shelf" control packages
cannot.
The result... 93 Million BTU's of free solar energy! |
