Longview Net Zero Residence
BOYLE HOUSE

BOYLE MECH RM
This residence uses geothermal for all of it's heating, cooling, and domestic hot water. A DX geothermal system was drilled beneath the slab of the mechanical room. Storage tanks contain domestic hot water, chilled water to feed cooling fan coils, and hot water for radiant floor heating throughout. Tekmar controls handle all of the delivery systems, making an integration with the homeowner flawless. A DDC (Direct Digital Control) system handle the cumbersome job of sourcing all of the chilled, heated, and domestic hot water. This is considered a net zero residence for one reason. A 5kw wind turbine will produce more electricity than the house uses annually. Since all of the heating, cooling, and domestic hot water are made with electricity, the building is essentially self sufficient.
