GEOTHERMAL AND SOLAR HOT WATER HYBRID PROJECT

This project combines many different types of production and delivery systems. For production, we have installed a solar hot water, geothermal ground to water, and high efficiency boiler plants. For delivery systems, we have tied on to an existing baseboard hot water sytem and domestic hot water sytem. We have also install a radiant floor heating system.

The system is set into temperature and production priority. The solar hot water production is used for radiant heating and domestic hot water if there has been enough production. If not, the geothermal plant will take over these tasks. When the geothermal plant cannot recover the domest hot water fast enough, the boiler plant will start production. The boiler plant will also handle all hydronic baseboard heating, due the temperatures required for this type of heating.

This system is controlled by a Direct Digital Control System. This DDC allows optimization of production and and delivery. The DDC system is powered by a Circon UHC 300.
